This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

hi Peter,

I just wanted to feedback that I think the magenta colouring for parts of the forum is a bit hard on the eyes. Maybe i'm getting to be an old fart and short sighted to boot, if so please ignore me.

The violent topic heading colour was to try to persuade people to read the subject of the topic before posting. (There have been a number of postings in inappropriate topics).

I will subdue / change the heading colour if the majority are in favour. Let me know.....

Yes please Peter - Ii find it a bit hard on the eyes too and as a result don't look at the topic heading in it.

I only read the topic heading when I am choosing what topic to view next so the 'violent purple' is wasted on me.

Topic title changed to colour boring, but if that's what you want.

I would like a few comments for, or against the change please. It would also be useful if you could let me know what the resolution of your screen is set to. happy :)

PS Just to remind you of the magenta I have change the heading to both the magenta AND the blue.... LOVELY!!! laugh :Dwink ;)razz :psad :(happy :) Your thoughts...

Well the blue does go better with the rest of the site. How about the nice light blue at the top of this reply box?

Oh, a thought, we need a poll... does this forum allow polls? I bet it doesn't sad :(

Anyway I like moaning about insignificant stuff so really you should just leave it all magenta and then I won't have to worry about parking, Russell Brand and Wossy, the co-ops fruit and veg or any other weighty matters.

jonno, you are either colour blind or you need a new monitor - the colour at the top of the reply box is a light purple!

The forum doesn't have a poll BUT the website does have survey facilities - here your chance..

I would agree magenta is a purpish red colour (on the webpage in question it is actually #FF33CC in RGB), but the colour at the top of the reply box is NOT blue (it is #EAEAFF in RGB) I would describe it as light purple. My monitor is set for true colours - it has to show correct colours for me to design websites and to set pictures up correctly for printing. I have seen a few LCD displays which have some strange ideas of how colours should be shown.

Anyway it doesn't really matter, I would like to know what resolution your display is set to because I would agree magenta is really bright on a low resolution screen. I have no problem changing the colours as long as it encourages people to look at the subject before posting.
