Topic : Your chance to help Silsden |

The time is near; when we will be putting up this years Christmas lights, the merry band of people who do this year after year; in all weathers, would much appreciate any help the good folks of Silsden can give. The group will be starting at the beck at about 08.30 hrs (AM) on Saturday the 19th Nov. Please consider coming to help, even if you can only manage to do one or two hours every bit is of great assistance. |

Well if it is in the Keighley news it must be true! Mags is in charge of the Christmas Market and she organises who will turn the lights on, I only help with the hardware. Time will tell. |

Saturday looks to be not too bad for weather, but Sunday will be a disaster for putting anything up. So please come and help on Saturday so we can get finished before the weather turns, You might as well because when we start with the cherry picker you will not be able to move in Silsden. |

Nice to be appreciated. Periodic Table, thanks for the offer, I understand not all can help, to others I say we do not discriminate, age, sex, or anything else we welcome anybody who wants to help. I would like to thank everybody who help in any way in the erection of this years lights. I do not usually give the names of those that have help, (Mainly because I can't remember them), However there are a some this year who deserve a special mention. Danny Clarke gave his time, vehicle and a £200 donation to the cause. The Punch Bowl gave all our workers a fine filling lunch. Skipton Ford lent a van for the day; to allow us to transport some features down to the main st. |
