seems to be a thing about steal bikes two people i work with who live in leeds area have had their sheds broken into an bikes stolen |

Have these all been reported to the police? I know it seems like an exercise in futility , but if they don't know about it, they can't look into it! Similarly, a word to the wise to EVERYONE: if you record or can illustrate serial/registration marks for all power tools, bikes, computer hardware etc, you stand a slim to remote chance of having those items returned in cases of burglary/theft etc.
I had to replace my bike last month, after it was stolen. The replacement has a long serial number stamped into the bottom bracket. The bike is now locked up with a heavier chain and lock combination, in a locked shed. |

yes we reported to the police as soon as we discovered it, they took the details and said they would not be sending anyone round and not investigating it other than they would link it to the cars that were broken into the same night.Very annoying as the police did call to the car break in and yet the value of our loss was considerable and they had used force to break in to the shed which was padlocked in several places.I would have thought that as a courtesy they might ask the local pcso to call at some stage! |
