Now that was some sight .First flying over Silsden then 10 mins later a full cirle over Silsden .

might have been something to do with the bronte vintage gathering, they often have a flypast

Could have been a Seafire - it had the truncated wing tips, but it didn't sound quite right to me - they normally put the hairs up on the back of my neck. I couldn't see it too clearly - looking into the sun.

An enjoyable sight though - a great low level fly past.

Did you see the two modern transport planes do a low pass over the hill towards Cowling late thursday evening?

Some Mk5 Spitfires had their wing tips clipped to improve low-level performance and had a different Rolls Royce Merlin engine fitted, it was a spitfire no doubts.
