This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Local bus company Keighley & District are putting fares up in January "due to rising cost's".
They put them up in May due to "the rising cost of fuel".
Given the cost of fuel now compared to May which of their cost's have gone up.

Put together with the quality of service and reliability you're paying a lot more than what you are getting. My solution get a car happy :)

I've always found the quality and reliability of their services good. However I do agree that the fare increases are getting a little jading.

I think good service depends on whether you wish to arrive at you destination on the same day! laugh :D
Say I get a train to Ilkely from Leeds, is it good service that when the train arrives it is also time for the bus to Keighley to leave therefore I have to wait twenty minutes until the next? Bearing in mind the train journey took only thirty minutes!

Ahh but I wanted to get off at Silsden happy :) In my infinite wisdom I decided to get on the Ilkley train instead of the skipton train as in theory it would be quicker than waiting 20 mins in Leeds, instead I ended up waiting 20 mins after watching the bus leave in Ilkley.
Thank god we have a taxi service!
