Bridge Road Fisheries Sutton fry in beef dripping. Is that hard fat? Their chips are fab fish is good batter 7/10. Couldn't say which is best in Yorkshire, I have not tried them all yet. |

Peter, it is a day out - you go to Cleethorpes to watch the 95th best football team in England and Wales - Grimsby Town, who would be in the premier league if they didn't always have to play away. Have a walk along the mud (Cleethorpes beach), then call at Louth for a sit-down, slap-up, tea bread and butter fish supper on the way back (haddock, with the skin on). You should get out more. |

Cowling chippy, in my book. They don't serve minnows either. Decent portions all round. It's the only chippy I know that also offer battered haggis. They offer the usual curry sauce or an Irish one, which is pretty damn good. |

If you can't make it to Louth, Hadley's in Whitby is a not too inferior substitute. 180 mile round trip, but you could take in the Abbey, Museum of Victorian Science or even better, take the bus to Robin Hood's Bay and walk back along the coast. Great day out. |

If this post encompasses the whole of Yorkshire it's Walkers fish restaurant in East Ayton for us. Beautiful fish there in 3 sizes, unless you have a huge appetite go for small. |

I have to say that the last time I got f+c from the bridge chippy they were crap. Middle chippy next to the lion is much better. |

Totally disagree BRIDGE CHIPPY in Silsden is way better than the middle chippy as they cook the good old fashioned way in beef dripping. |
