IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Free for all Silsden kids up to the sixth form. Think it's half fare they pay in the sixth form with a pass. |

Looking on this page www.bradford.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/A0C2F740-D309-408B-8602-11965250676A/0/2006HometoSchoolCollegeTravelPolicyFINALAugust2006.pdf I wonder if making Keighley Road 40mph will allow it to be classed as a "safe walking" route and bring half of Silsden back into the 3 mile limit for paying. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) How can it when kids would have to cross the by-pass? Added to that, by no stretch of even Bradfords imagination is there any safe route remotely near three miles, even with a safe by-pass crossing. It ain't gonna happen! It's a shame when Bradford use some commonsense for once and reduce the speed limit to 40mph from the national speed limit that we have to criticise them, and imagine future problems. I can't really believe that anyone with any experience of driving at thinks it is safe to do 60mph in that stretch anyway! Our energies would be better spent campaigning for a crossing of the by-pass so that people can use the station safely. |
