From our Sports Club Chairman; To the thieving scum who broke into our football club and ransacked what we have worked for for the past 25 years last night your families should be really proud of you all Have a very merry Xmas Scum every one of you. So far 6 offers of £50 each towards a reward to catch them. |

Reward now uped by 6 more now totaling £600 Not been down but report of damage is they smashed a roller shutter on the pitch sid of the club, then smashed the window and pulled the sutters off the bar. Stole all they could carry from the bar and cellar, then brloke into the brand new cabin we just raised money for and the tea cabin and mower store. |

It was a statement not a question, but lets move on, thats not the point of the subject. Everyone should be aware we have thieves on the prowl and take extra care. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) Despite comments I have previously made about the football club, damage caused by vandals is bad news at any time of year. On this occasion, it has cost the club revenue from a gig from the Escapades, which would have been a popular event. I hope that the damage can be rectified quickly and normal business resumed. I have just seen a young lady walking up the street with a Silsden AFC umbrella. Do the club have a good stock of merchandise, that could be sold to raise funding for repairs etc? Where does the club sell the merchandise from - postal orders, counter sales...? |

A quick update; The police said we had done as much as we could as a deterent, but if criminals want to get in, they will. They had to get through 3 roller shutters and a door to access the spirits. They also said unless we have a web cam to take good pictures in the dark it would not have been any good, the biggest % of break ins are at night. One piece of good news is the forensic officers found some evidence they think will produce DNA, fingers crossed. The vicar told us that Hothfield School had been turned over too with the theft of laptops etc. |
