The agendas and minutes for STC are posted here www.silsden.net/town_council/index.htm (there is a link to this page from the main sidebar menu and from the front page of this website). The minutes of a meeting will not be posted until at least 4 weeks after the meeting has taken place because they have to be ratified first (which happens at the next meeting of the same type, EG the minutes of a general meeting will not be ratified at a planing meeting). If you want to find out what is happening on a current topic of a meeting agenda item you will have to attend the meeting, or wait for a few weeks until the minutes are published. The agenda and minutes used to be posted on the notice board of the TH and as far as I am aware they still are. However, there are a lot of people that don't know where to look even if they are on the noticeboard, as was demonstrated when the Lengthsman position was advertised..... lots of people had something to say about it on the forum but didn't see the poster in the TH noticeboard - it was there! Thanks Peter, Now the moaners have no excuse for saying they do not know what is going on at the Town Council meetings. But I bet this still wont stop them from moaning. |

Please feel free to move this to another thread but may I ask why Mr Mallinson is not attending the meetings currently when he is an elected Ward Councillor? |

How can you not be interested in Silsden when you are a resident? Sorry for being naïve but I thought the point in being a local Councillor was to make a positive difference and improve your locality? |

Mr Mallinson has a friend who it would appear Mr Mallinsons party would like as a ward councillor. This person tried to be elected by the voters of his home town, Shipley but the locals would have none of it. So they looked for a safe seat and decided to shoe horn this person into the role of candidate. I will not go into the details of how they sacked the sitting councillor from being a candidate. The sitting councillor was also a member of The Town Councillor. Mr Mallinson was his friends election agent and if I remember correctly following the decision of the sitting councillor to stand as an independent an exiting election campain took place. Following victory for the local independent candidate Mr Mallinson announced he would never work with the Town Council again and he has proved to be a man of his word.Mr Mallinson did become active in the Town Hall project which saw the removal of the Town Council Chamber which was replaced by a library but I doubt he will be holding a ladder as the Town Council put the xmas lights up. At the most recent election Mr Mallinsons friend once again stood for election only to be beaten by another member of The Town Council. It does all seem a bit strange that Mr Mallinson is employed by Cowling Parish Council but will not speak the Silsden TC. Thats politics I suppose. |

A ward councillor for Bradford Council gets paid but a Silsden Town Councillor does not |

Thanks again Gazzer. Strange how Rosy complains about STC but doesn't seem to mind Mr Malinson not bothering to turn up to the meetings! |

Could that have something to do with the amount of taxpayers money Mallinson put into the white elephant that is the Silsden Town Hall? He who pays the piper calls the tune! |
