This is why the lockdown can't end just yet and the measures must remain in place.

There can be a time lag of more than three weeks between someone becoming infected with coronavirus and dying. Symptoms take days - if not weeks - to become life-threatening. The death has to be recorded and reported, and the family notified, in a process that takes days.

I had an email from Bradford Met last Friday, pointing out that they hadn't signed up for their coronavirus email update service, and I might be missing a lot of vital information. (Don't know if anyone else received one?)

The email also contained the following:

"Only go outside for food, health reasons or essential work"

Hmmmm, maybe something missing there? (Unless of course Bradford Met alone is banning people from going out once a day for exercise. Hopefully that's a joke.)

Strangely enough, I still haven't signed up for their coronavirus email update service.

I cycle regularly. I cycle on my own - not just now, but always: I can't bear the behaviour of club cyclists who go out in vast numbers, cycle several abreast, and don't seem to notice, or care, if there's half-a-mile of traffic stuck behind them. And it really get me that such behaviour gives all cyclists a bad name.

If I'm out in the wilds, with not another soul for miles in any direction, is it wrong for me to stop for a couple of minutes for a breather, to admire a view, or to drink some water?

Busy on the Nab yesterday

During recent cycle trips, I've noticed that the traffic levels are creeping up.

But with the current levels of mixed messages, lying, prevarication, broken promises, and exaggerated media reporting, I guess it's not to be wondered at.

Public Health Early Years guidance for district's families

Families across the Bradford district, particularly those with babies and young children, are being reminded that there is support out there for anyone needing it during the coronavirus outbreak.

A number of useful guides have been created offering families advice over the care of their children while at home by Bradford Council’s Public Health department, Better Start Bradford, The Bradford Partnership (Working Together to Safeguard Children) and other NHS partners.

One important guide offers advice for parents if their children are ill, reminding them that health services are #StillHereToHelp if they become poorly for non-coronavirus reasons.

The topics covered include:

* Happy, healthy pregnancy
* Perinatal mental health
* Infant feeding
* Coping with crying
* Spending time at home with 0-2-year-olds
* Getting outdoors
* 0 to 5 activities
* If your child is unwell
* School aged activities
* Eating well
* Smoke free homes
* Support for families with no English
* How to stay safe at home in a large family with elders and people at high risk
* Or visit the Early Years Guidance page for families.

I dont see any problem in going for a walk up the Nab. Far preferable to the crammed footpaths nearer the village.

It would appear that some farmers are doing their best to discourage walkers from using footpaths on their land!
The public footpath beside the canal on the property of Low Woodside Farm has been unkindly messed up with farm sewage..whilst the rest of the field appears to have very little if any on it!
Many people use that footpath on a regular basis in Lockdown or otherwise: Isn't it time we had a better footpath for all users and maybe a fence to separate as well? Nobody I know wants to upset any farmer but surely it would be best to have a better footpath through there land where everyone can feel happy?
