This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

For anyone who doesn't know the issue, see this page -

www.thestreetsofsilsden.co.uk/

It's a disgrace that Bradford has continually refused to do anything about these important roads in Silsden!

i took part in the survey done by beryl a few years ago on spencer ave, we counted the amount of traffic and pedestrians using it and i started a new column for people using the road to walk on instead of the dangerous pavement which continues round on to the bottom of hillcrest ave, and even years after she sent it off to the powers that be ,nothing has been done.as to dogooder question surely no one could get a ticket to park on an unadopted road, yet bfd council has put yellow lines on a road they reckon they have nothing to do with sounds like a horse following the cart or one hand not knowing what the other is doing sad :(sad :(sad :(shocked 8Oshocked 8Oshocked 8O

Ann Cryer also got involved, but was unable to get the ruling mandarins at Bradford to do anything.

Perhaps another round of e-mails to the district councillors, Messers Kelly, Mallinson, and Naylor is in order?

Isn't the road up the side of the Co-op where the double yellow lines are called "Hillcrest Avenue"?
- is that an 'un-adopted' road?

My point is that Bradford should be repairing the pavement opposite the Co-op (Hillcrest Road), since they are not doing it there what chance is there that they will be doing it on the 'un-adopted' road of Spencer Avenue!

Strictly speaking you are not totally correct Alan, the part of Hillcrest Ave from it's junction with Spencer Ave up to the top of the road where it ends is adopted it was given over so the developer who built the estate at the top (Buckden court etc) could pay for it to be brought up to an adoptable standard.
