There will be an increase in possible accidents around Bell Sq/Bolton Rd due to the granting of planning permission of a takeaway. Mind you reading the Keighley News it was a stitch up with one Cllr(Mallinson) actually speaking on behalf of the applicant and another who had a personal interest |

oh dear do you know on what grounds they allowed it as it was refused before. Talking of accidents, it was ridiculous yesterday afternoon, there was nowhere for pedestrians to walk safely.I walked up kirkgate wanting to go to coop so I was on the town hall side.Just past st james church, the pavement was being dug up and there was a great big wagon parked as well(something to do with the work)I could not cross to other side of road as that is all fenced off so just had to walk through the middle of the workmen on the dug up pavement!!coming back I wanted to go to post office so had to walk down bell square cross to library walk through the grounds, then through methodist gardens, what a palaver, would not suprise me if someone falls. |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) quoteThere will be an increase in possible accidents around Bell Sq/Bolton Rd due to the granting of planning permission of a takeaway. Mind you reading the Keighley News it was a stitch up with one Cllr(Mallinson) actually speaking on behalf of the applicant and another who had a personal interest ALL Silsden Town Councillors were against this! My personal opinion is that STC and the people of Silsden have been seriously let down! |
|
| grandad |
yes Alan, let down again by CLLr Mallinson! As Skippy says I hope the people of Silsden will remember this and all the other things he has done that impacts adversly on Silsden. |

MALLINSON OUT!!!!!!!!!! |

The worst day of my life!!!!! I HAVE to agree with 'gazzer' ![]() The trouble is though 'grandad' that if his party put up a monkey for election they would get elected while we are with Addingham and Steeton! |

quoteAlan, I think it is must only be published in the paper itself and not on the online version. |

quoteSo the applicant told the planners there are 3 public car parks nearby.Where is the third?. i was told whats classed as the punch car park is still the councils as they used to have markets and animal auctions on there . skippy mignt be able to put a bit of light on this ,so this could be classed as third car park nearby. |
|

Quite rightly the landlord won't be impressed with them using that car park! It's a pity district councillors didn't use commonsense in this application, I have no doubt that this takeaway will become a running sore!!!!! |
|
| grandad |
My old science teacher often used to say, that if there was such a thing as common sense, there would be a lot more of it about I think he was right. I believe I might have discovered mallinson's cunning plan, when the takewaay is open bradford will be out there collecting all the money from the parking fines, this they will take away and use to re-open the canal back into the centre of Bradford. |
|
| alan |
Like I say 'grandad' that takeaway will be a problem! |

Its on page 12. TAKEAWAY GRANTED PLANING permission was granted for a hot food takeaway at 1-5 Bolton Road, in Silsden. Letters objecting to the proposal expressed concerns regarding lack of parking, insufficient bin storage and an abundance of takeaway restaurants in the town. Cllr Mallinson spoke on behalf of the applicant, Mr A Riaz and said he made a "conscious effort" to abide by the recommendations made by the panel when it originally heard the application in May this year. He told the panel: "I speak on behalf of the Craven ward councillors as well". Eventually three of the panel voted to grant planning permission. Cllr Greaves voted against and Cllr Shamin Akhtar had expressed a personal interest in the item. |

Pity he didn't mention that he didn't speak on behalf of STC and that he lives in Steeton and Kelly in Addingham!! |

I bought the Keighley News dated 30th October on the evening of the 29th October hot of the press. This is where I read the report that planning permission had been given. Today, on November 7th I have received a letter from the council explaining that planning permission was granted at a meeting held on November 5th. I smell something fishy or even worse I smell a rat!!! |
