This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Bird song identification.
There is an app. for android phones which, on pointing to the sound of the bird's song , it tells you which bird it is.

Anyone know where I can download this app for free?

iTunes or a google search should fix that. iTunes has about 1/2 a dozen ranging between £2 to £3.50.

Hi
I don't know if you got any further with the search for a birdsong app. You might be interested in a BBC radio 4 programme about the natural world. I have just heard it today, Tuesday at 11.10am and I believe you could get it again on catchup.

They were talking about such an app where you recorded a bird song on your phone (I think) and the app gave you what the song was likely to be.

Hope this might be of some help - sorry, I didn't catch the name of the app.
