Thanks for letting me know. i rang Virgin and they said there wasn't an area fault. Got a technician booked for Thursday afternoon, probably better to cancel it if others lost service too. |

We are in that area we lost ours too and friends on gloucester lost theirs . I phoned them and they told me no area fault even though i explained there were at least 3 other houses off in the area they wanted to book a technician for me too for thurs as they said it was our box so i told them to forget it !!! Internet was off at same time too . |

One final question, are you and have you been getting for the last couple of week, picture problems on any channel, like picture break up with the coloured blocks appearing or sound issues? Ours has become an issue over the last couple of weeks and Im pretty certain its not or box etc. Its something more widespread, impossible to explain to the engineer without some examples.
Thanks in advance |

jbrare...We have had that exact same problem for some weeks now, off and on. I thought it was something to do with the digital reception, and was often mainly on BBC, where it did not appear on the analogue version. I am no expert, just guessing! |

Thanks for the response. I think with the service going off completely on monday for half hour and with the picture issues, not mentioning the on demand issues most of the time, i think they have a wider network issue in Silsden. On my street they have re-cabled 3 houses from the road so I'm wondering if the Virgin network is starting to fall apart a bit. Not good when we are paying for a service and getting bad picture quality plus this poor signal issue will have an impact on broadband speeds too. I have a tech booked for tomorrow afternoon and will tell them that others are having exactly the same issues around silsden, see what they say.
Thanks for letting me know. |

I know its a bit of a pain but everyone with picture and / or sound issues, On demand issues, V+ box issues etc should call Virgin Customer services on 151 from a VirginMedia phone line. Nearly all of the issues you will have will be down to a signal problem. Only when enough people in the same area complain about the poor signal, TV picture, sound quality, poor internet speeds and set top box rebooting (they tend to do this when the signal is bad in order to 'lock on' again) will Virgin take the issue seriously and look into why we are all receiving a less than acceptable service, TV picture wise anyway. Thanks all |

It was down to a power outage affecting the feeding street cabinet on Dradishaw Road. |

After having virgin problems for about 4 years tonight i got sick of the incessant buzzing when we were watching the tv. We unplugged the cable box and tuned the freeview in OMG the picture difference sound quality basically the whole thing was 100% improved ! No more virgin for me it's getting cancelled ! |
