This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Absolutely. Did you see the the two rowers who were piped for gold and had to be lifted out of their boat such was the effort they put in. In contrast did you see the footballers!!!!!

What about Jess Ennis, a great athelete. To excel in 7 disciplines is some achievement.
All these young people have done the country and themselves proud, wish there were more like them.

Well Done team G.B.

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

I saw something similar on the Europsort page of facebook this morning

"YORKSHIRE would have been seventh in the Olympic medal table at the start of the day if it were a country - above JAPAN, SOUTH AFRICA and AUSTRALIA!"

It also had a lovely picture of the olympic rings and yorkshire rose

Right now we are comfortably in third....

Did you see the item on last nights tele, were the French complained our team were winning to many medals? The British manager told them we were faster because the wheels on our bikes are round, not just nearly round but really round, he said the French chap went away scratching his head!
