Hi guys,
Just a warning to everyone going out tonight, I saw a shady looking character walking around silsden around 5pm scruffy, beard, oiled up brown pants and jacket and stumbling about like something wasnt right. I caught him going up air view at around 6pm & followed him up in my car while he was looking in peoples car's and checking their car doors.

I observed a person walking up Keighley Rd on Wednesday evening that generally fits the above description. Most noticeable was his badly discoloured and stained coat or long jacket that was probably white originally. He was younger looking than most vagrants, if that is what he is. I kept my eye on him until he disappeared over the canal bridge, during which time he spent several minutes in the parking area in front of the former chapel just below the entrance to Sykes Lane, as if resting but perhaps observing the car(s) parked there. His walking progress was very slow and a bit "unsure". |

He was outside St. James's Church (on the bench for most of the night) whilst Scout's was on. He is probably still there. |

I noticed him on Friday morning.
I think sick rather than shady is a better description. I only think 'there but for the grace of god' |

well at least he might get some help now, hopefully the vicars wife did not turn him away.It is not always drink that makes people sway about, I once had a really bad ear infection which affected my balance, I could not walk properly for weeks.Meneres disease also has the same effect.Poor man, hope he gets some help |

Dunno if it's the same guy, I wouldn't exactly say he looked dodgy, a bit rough perhaps but then so do I some days.
I saw this guy, maybe in his 30s, wearing an olive green-ish parka type coat, light brown/slightly reddish beard, quite tanned and a wooly hat stood in the small garden gateway opposite the town hall a couple of hours ago.
As I passed I said hello and he asked me if I had any roll-ups on me. I said I didn't and wandered on my way.
He was just standing there not doing much, wasn't threatening or strange in any way or anything like that.
I do hope Silsden hasn't become the stomping ground of some homeless guy though. Or if it has that he can find a decent place to stay and a job of some kind, asking a lot I know. |

I have seen this guy before. I have posted about him before and I am sure someone said he has family in town who he visits.
He has stopped and leant on the wall outisde my house before several times. A couple of times I have opened the window to ask him if he needs help, as he always looks as though he is need of medical attention, but when i opent he window he moves off but perhaps thats more down to the fact the dog "shouts" at him when she sees him. I have also seen him resting on the benches outside the Bridge Inn before.
He is in need of medical attention but I am not sure he is any kind of threat, though I have never seen him looking in or trying to get into vehicles myself. |

if he is in need of medical attention, I wonder why his family don't do something? I know sometimes its difficult especially if the person refuses help.Maybe pcso could have contacted a homeless charity or salvation army.I am glad people are helping him, after all if it was a stray animal I am sure no one would hesitate |

He appeared at the blood donor session at the Methodists the other night about 7pm ish. One of the nurses stopped him on the door and was speaking to him. I could only make out her side of the conversation and she seemd a bit confused. It sounded like he was trying to get in because some boys had been chasing him and also that the vicar had given him some money. She gave him a brew and some biscuits and sent him on his way. He was still sat at the front of the chapel as I left about 7:30pm. |

That shady character....
Half of Silsden seems to be double locking their houses and keeping the children indoors, the other half is wringing their hands and concsciences and just hoping somebody else might do him some good cos we would but it's a bit inconvenient just now.
All that fuss about cctv cameras.... seems to me they are redundant, enough eyes about already tracking the movements of a stranger.
It's a wild west film story. Should we run him out of town? String him up for looking in cars, well, he was going to steal from them so lets go get him and keep the town clean. Call the sheriff and we'll raise a posse. No no is the call from the ladies of the chapel, bonnets and shawls and all, he can be saved. We can give him a bath and a slice of apple pie and get him fixin fences and praise the lord three years down the line he's a gonna marry Eeeeeliza and run his very own homestead. Yeeehaaa.
I like a happy ending |

We would we would we would help that guy! It's just difficult to concentrate on writing when dealing with all the madcaps that congregate here at the Robin Hood. |

mr Shabba if your great concern for car doors u saw him touching why not ask what he was doing.Ring the police. When i spoke to him offering food he politely refussed the church had given him a meal to see him until another was not drunk or drugged to me seemed to suffer mental illness.I saw him in the town centre following day outside charity shop whom must given him clean clothes so no doubt moved on.your street now safe!Mr Roostman i hardly think he was responsible pockets wernt big enough |
