This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Going on from Skipton road have you ever tried to enter skipton road from the cobbles (back Elm Grove)with that thick privet hedge blocking you veiw down hill and when you pop your front end out far enough to see downhill ,vehicles coming down ard on the wrong side of the road because of that big old motorhome thats always parkedon Skipton road

Highway Code #243
DO NOT stop or park

near a school entrance
anywhere you would prevent access for Emergency Services
at or near a bus or tram stop or taxi rank
on the approach to a level crossing/tramway crossing
opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space
near the brow of a hill or hump bridge

opposite a traffic island or (if this would cause an obstruction) another parked vehicle
where you would force other traffic to enter a tram lane
where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles
in front of an entrance to a property
on a bend
where you would obstruct cyclists’ use of cycle facilities except when forced to do so by stationary traffic

Highway Code #244
You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.

Bob T
The road over the canal bridge doesn't need any yellow lines! there is a double white line in the middle of the road! It is an offence to park where there is a double white line system.
Several tickets have been issued to offending vehicles in the past.
