there are lots of "inconsiderate jerks" who light fires all year round, sometimes the valley is thick with smoke. It is a nuisance and can be reported to council for enforcement action to be taken.

This jerk always lights his fires at the weekend or evenings when the envirolment health offices are closed, he has been served with so many warnings that he is now taking the p*ss out of the enforcement officers

I think rubbish busrning is seen as a public nuisance and local councils have powers to put a stop to it.Maybe if enough people keep complaining something will be done.Failing that get a few neighbours together with buckets of water and put it out!

Just had word with environ. They said look at the T and A Web site the guy is called Gordon Waite and you will see more about him. Regarding the lighting of fires it was suggested that we ring the emergency duty officer if it is so bad again. the number is 01274 431000 still say he is inconsiderate. If he has to making a living why doesnt he do the fire lighting at night when we are all in bed.

Have often wondered if he is lighting rubbish that isn't his, wouldn't have thought he could warrant that much rubbish. There's a right old rick goes up at times, and the smell is awful.

Been watching this thread for a few weeks now very interesting to note that nothing has been mentioned about the regular fires on the allotments on woodside road? No one has mentioned the fire maurice jackson had at the bottom of sykes lane either.
