Car parking spaces at the busy Steeton and Silsden Railway Station are to increase in a £2.53m scheme. This will be funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). MORE INFORMATION www.keighleyonline.co.uk/community/news/795-more-car-parking-space-for-steeton-and-silsden-railway-station.html ......................................... So WYCA will be funding car parking spaces for commuters from North Yorkshire and Lancashire to park for free, to use the transport we pay for and subsidise. £2.53m works out to be £36k per parking space!!! This money could be used to subsidise lots of Jackson buses which could run frequently between Silsden / station / Steeton this would free up more than 70 spaces AND serve the community that pay for the subsidised travel. A lack of planning somewhere methinks! |
