IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Hello Cobbydalers

I’m a 16-year-old, Year 11 student, and I’ve decided its time I started paying my way!

Would be grateful if anyone has any ideas or leads to jobs suitable for me. I can travel a few miles from Silsden as necessary. Obviously needs to be evenings and weekends for now. I’ll consider anything reasonable.

Thanks for reading.

So you want to clean toilets?

If you really want a job you will have to give people a clue what you would like to do. What are your interest? Do you have any qualifications? Do you want to work inside or outside, or perhaps both? ... and the list of questions should go on but I will leave you to look at this page on this site. www.silsden.net/useful/careers.htm

Not all the links work now (the page was made a long time ago and I will have to sort out the missing links), but it will serve as a place to start.

Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for.

Obviously I'm thinking basic, typical stuff that teens do; local deliveries, shop work, that kind of thing. Perhaps the line "I'll consider anything" should have included the word 'almost'.

Tried the boatyard? My son used to clean the hire boats.

I heard the boatyard had cut right back on cleaners so don't get your hopes up there, but it won't hurt to ask. You might try contacting Acorn Stairlifts at Steeton. They have a 'helldesk' type operation that always seems to need people and I know they took on a 6th former for the holidays recently, I think they do evening shifts.
