This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

Where is our Environmental group?

A poster on the forum asked this question in another topic. Well, like a lot of other groups it's run by a few individuals that care, and a few volunteers which turn out in all sorts of weather to clean up the mess we leave behind, to make Silsden a better place to live in.

theenvironmentalgroup.silsden.net/

But people have to move on, circumstances change and voluntary groups can only do as much as they have members to keep the group going.

There is far too much criticism of voluntary groups who do good things for Silsden, don't criticise find a cause and give up some of your time and help.

You could help:
Environmental group
The Gala Committee (Gala, Bonfire Night, Christmas Market)
The Town Christmas Lights
There are a lot of projects made possible by volunteers - get involved and make this a better place.

I posted "where is our Environmental Group?" as a question to enlighten them...in a positive sense, NOT negative? Peter you are wrong to criticise and make at point of this.

This was never intended to be a personal criticism but a much more general call for the community to help under resourced groups.

Some of our voluntary groups do great things but are under resourced both in terms of money and help. The money side of things is a difficult one to solve, but the help side can be be resolved by all of us doing our bit. It doesn't always have to be physical help.
