IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. I see Bradford Council have been round marking pot holes to bodge up. Holes a few feet away from some marked look like they will be left. All the roads and pavements around Jaques Gr,Aireville,Longbottom need resurfacing not patching. I drove around today and the amount of water standing in holes and sunken gutters shows the fact that patching isnt enough. The pavements have not been done since before cable TV was laid. |

Couldn't agree more 'gazzer' I got onto BMDC about the state of St.John's Street months ago, potholes all over the road, etc. Also said that the road had not been resurfaced in over 20 years. Today I noted that a few had been circled, & I guess will be filled. Not what is needed. I am also waiting for BMDC to come & repair a collapsed gully pipe that causes flooding in my yard in heavy rain. Two months ago they came & marked out where to dig, then I got a visit from a manager who told me it was 'problematic' because they 'might' have to close the road to get the work done. I am still waiting & still getting flooded. Oddly, Gasworks Lane, & no doubt other roads that don't have the same level of traffic as St.John's Street have been resurfaced a number of times in recent years. |

The only road(Jaques Gr) I mentioned that has been resurfaced in a generation is now dug up by the Gas Board but when the holes are filled in it will still be better than the others. |

If only a fraction of the money spent in Bradford was shared out across the district " A £1 MILLION scheme to revamp part of Bradford city centre is on schedule and on budget, according to the man overseeing the project. And it's just part of an "unprecedented" number of city-centre improvements under way, worth a total of £3.5 million, as Bradford gets ready for its new shopping centre.
