Im all for putting signs up about dog dirt but that clown who lost the election last year has put some up that are far too large for a residential area.

You know, I really do get the feeling some people will complain about anything.
Signs are up, they are readable and no excuse for not seeing them. I would say dog poo all over the pavement is rather more unsuitable for a residential area. Have a go at the twunts who refuse to pick it up, or even better, the one who bag it for posterity and then sling the bag.
Personally I thought they were quite good.

I dont think any dog owner does not already know to bag and bin it without 4ft high signs. The only way to change attitudes is fines but at present they know they can get away with.I understand Bradford Council only prosecuted(fixed penalty) 45 people in 3 and half years. We should run a competition on here..first one to catch a culprit on their mobile phone video wins a prize. I caught someone on cctv at my last house and a polite word and an offer of video evidence stooped the twice a week episodes in my gateway. I am only too happy to question people, worst I saw was an alsatian on the beach on holiday, plenty thanked me for saying something but nobody else seemed to say anything. |

Don't you have to get permission to put notices on lampposts?
Must be an election coming up.
Now,I wonder who was holding the ladder?

If the signs work, who cares about the size. Howden road was terrible once apon a time. All the bits of grass on the right hand side going up were covered in dog excrement, not pleasant for folks living there, without dogs of their own. Let's hope we get them around the rest of Silsden. Yet again, dog owners that can't be responsible, but then again, maybe that is their attitude to life in general. NOT MY JOB. |

We live on Howden Road near the signs, we are dog owners who do clean up. But within the last hour we have walked past each of the signs and there is a pile of poo near each one. I applaud someone trying to do something about it, but the signs have no effect at all and are a waste of taxpayers money, the people leaving the dog mess already know they should be picking it up, they will be having a chuckle at the signs when their dog poo's under them.
The bin at Brunthwaite lane canal bridge is stuffed with so many dog poo bags they are blowing all over the place, the council need to divert some effort into emptying the bins, otherwise people will chuck the bag over the nearest hedge. |
