This website and forum has been living on borrowed web server time for years. At the end of this month silsden.net in it's present form will cease to exist, BUT there is a new silsden.net in the making, and a new forum, and lots of exciting new things coming to this space. Peter

The following was sent in by Mrs L Clark. If you have similar concerns please reply here and/or write to the town council. www.silsden.net/town_council/docs_04/Councillor2004-05.pdf

I live on The Kingfishers, off Hainsworth Road in Silsden and am currently concerned with our journey to school.

We walk to school everyday in a group, usually 6-8 children with us and find it increasingly difficult to cross Howden Road from Hainsworth Road.

This is our only walking route under the culvert, and we take our life in our hands every day.

Cars come racing down Howden Road round the corner as we are crossing or from the main road.

With Waterloo Mills under construction,is the road going to be even more dangerous for us. I have been on their website to view the plan, www.waterloomills.co.uk/Properties it looks like cars will be coming from the mill also.

How will we be safe crossing, will there be a pavement for us to use coming up Hainsworth Road? 'SLOW' signs coming down Howden Road?

Please let me know the plans to put our minds at rest. I don't have a problem with the mill being converted, it will make the lane much nicer and safer to walk up, it's just the traffic that concerns me and others down here who have to cross Howden Road. Thanks L Clarke

Well not trying to tell you that you are wrong, but it seems you are making out you are being forced to go that why because its your only option?

When in fact you could climb the stairs before the culvet walk along the the canal either go up first flight of steps to the bridge or carry on to the other side to the bridge?

I just a suggestion, i walk down past there every morning as i work for Brett Harris in waterloo mills. If its a problem for me i would go via the park to ovoid this problem.

Anyways just thought i would point this out.

It may be of interest to Mrs L Clarke that the Town Council endorsed her comments and concerns and have forwarded a copy on to Bradford Council.
